Bandcamp waive fees for artists & labels
Bandcamp are doing something very cool for independent artists and labels as they waive all administration fees on sales via their platform on the first Friday of the next three months.
The generous move is to help artists and labels that are economically affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Back in March, Bandcamp first waived its fees for a day, with fans spending over $4.3 million worth of music and merchandise in under 24 hours.
“It may sound simple, but the best way to help artists is with your direct financial support, and we hope you’ll join us through the coming months as we work to support artists in this challenging time.” – Ethan Diamond, Co-Founder & CEO of Bandcamp
If you are artist, it’d be handy to take a look at their new guide on how to maximise your sales on Bandcamp, and be prepared when they waive their fees.
Dates and times
Bandcamp are waiving their fees on the following dates and times:
- 1st May 2020 from midnight to midnight PDT (8am to 8am BST)
- 5th June 2020 from midnight to midnight PDT (8am to 8am BST)
- 3rd July 2020 from midnight to midnight PDT (8am to 8am BST)
As Bandcamp says, let’s come together as a community to put money directly into artists’ pockets!
